Hugh Jackman Diet

To inhabit his character, Jackman needed to pack on 30 lbs fast

To play the role of Wolverine he called Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson for advice on how to bulk up.

Hugh says “I know Dwayne and I rang him and said, ‘Buddy, I saw you in The Tooth Fairy…and then I saw you in an action movie and you are massive. How do you do it?'”

The Rock said, ‘Okay, you want to put on 25 pounds of lean muscle? You need six months. You need to eat 6,000 calories and here it is,'”

Let’s just say it takes a lot of time and food to look that big.

His regime included eating 7 times a day. In total about 6,000 calories. He ate protein and vegetables along with rice in the morning. Then he ate about every 2 hours.

Once he put on the required weight, Jackman’s trainer had him do intermittent fasting.

It involves avoided eating for 16 hours a day and only eating within an 8-hour window.

Jackman says carbohydrate and calorie cycling, and fasting were his 3 game changers. He says these improve insulin sensitivity and increase fat-burning and muscle gain.

To pack up like the wolverine, Hugh ate chicken breasts, steak, fish, nuts, seeds, avocados, leafy greens (spinach, kale, etc.), broccoli, sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal, quinoa,

On the contrary, he avoided sugar, refined carbs, fruit, junk food, fried foods, and soft drinks.

1) Have a dream

While growing up Hugh says “I used to spend nights looking at atlases. I decided I wanted to be a chef on a plane. Because I’d been on a plane and there was food on board, I presumed there was a chef. I thought that would be an ideal job.” Though today he is not a chef on a plane, he is an A list celebrity jet setting the world.

2) Find the courage

Jackman never felt like the stage can be his home. He says, “It wasn’t until I was 22 that I ever thought about my hobby being something I could make a living out of. As a boy, I’d always had an interest in theatre. But the idea at my school was that drama and music were to round out the man. It wasn’t what one did for a living. I got over that. I found the courage to stand up and say, ‘I want to do it’.

3) Blind Faith

Jackman has trouble with his sight. He is extremely near-sighted. To cope, he memorized everything when he hosted Saturday Night Live and the Tony awards. He did this so that he wouldn’t have to read his lines.

How can you maintain your lifestyle like Hugh Jackman

Would you like to transform into Wolverine? 2 things you need, time and eating. Then double it up with an intense Wolverine workout regime. In 6 months you will transform into a powerful beast.

On the other side, how do you deal with life? Just like Hugh, firstly have a dream. Secondly, find the courage to follow your dream. It may be tough. However, all good things in life require hard work.

Finally, know your weaknesses. As it is, Jackman has vision limitations. He chooses not to stress about it. Rather he finds ways on how to deal with it. Like in the case of Jackman, find ways to manage whatever difficulties you are facing. In due time, you will be a winner.
