So, how does ‘firewalking’ Tony Robbins keep in tip top shape. One of the most important aspects of his morning routine is an exercise he calls “priming.” It’s rooted in yoga and mindfulness meditation.

He begins by sitting straight with his eyes closed. He then inhales deeply through his nostrils while simultaneously lifting his arms in a shoulder press motion, and then exhales forcefully through his nostrils while bringing his arms back to his body, palms up.

He performs the breaths in quick succession. Robbins does three sets of 30, with a brief break in between each set. This exercise is a variation of an ancient yoga technique called Kapalabhati Pranayama.

This yogic breathing technique should be controlled through constrictions of the abdomen.

While priming he often plays meditative music. But you can also do it in silence. The exercise should leave you feeling energized.

After the priming workout Robbins fits in an intensive 15 minute workout. He says, “My whole focus is — how do you get the greatest result with the least amount of time or energy? Intensity trumps duration all day long.”

The OsteoStrong machine (5 minutes) high intensity interval training (HIIT).

Robbins uses a machine called the OsteoStrong (he’s an investor in it) for his workout. It is designed for every muscle in your body to get the maximum demand in the shortest amount of time with the least trauma.

For just a few seconds each, he exerts his full force in a bench press motion, leg press motion, pull down with crunch motion, and deadlift motion. Take a look at this video to understand this training

After a workout he dips in the hot sauna and then plunges in cold water (around 57 degrees F) This keeps his heart rate high enough, improves blood circulation and improves your reflexes.

Afterwards he does a back inversion machine to stretch his back, in which Robbins is suspended upside down to decompress his spine and lower his heart rate. After that he is ready to face his workday ahead.

Tony Robbins Lifestyle

Here are some of the things that Tony Robbins advocates for a healthy lifestyle:

1) Manage Your Mind

Robbins believes there is a correlation between your thoughts and the kind of life you lead. He is believes directing your thoughts is as important to good health as any exercise regimen.

In light of this, he schedules time into his day to examine his thoughts and feelings.

2) Stop the Poisoning

After discovering high levels of toxins in his body, Robbins is passionate in wanting people to be aware of what we’re putting into our body.

He advises us to be more mindful of our diet, detox, and empower ourselves to take back control.

3) Move!

Robbins strongly supports adding more steps in your day to day activities. He insists, especially for those who have a desk job.

4) Align Your Body

Poor posture or misalignment is detrimental to your health. Robbins encourages massage, chiropractic and at-home stretches which can help improve structural support.

5) Cleanse

Robbins is a proponent of colonics. He is also a fan of diaphragmatic breathing, rebounding on a mini-trampoline, dry brushing, lymphatic massage and fasting.

Tony Robbins Diet

To begin with, he tends to stick with the same daily meals. And right after waking up, he downs an “adrenal support cocktail”. It is a shake made of greens powder, vitamin C, antioxidants together with capsules of methylated B vitamins mixed with additional nutrients.

After his workout, he’ll have a breakfast of free range eggs and organic coconut bread.

With regards to his diet, Robbins subscribes to the ‘Fit for Life’ diet created by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond.

This diet centers on fresh vegetables and fruits. It particularly lays emphasis on those with high water content. Additionally, the diet is low on meat and animal products including dairy.

Robbins advocates that 70% of your intake should come from ‘live’ foods, especially those containing mostly water.

Another aspect of this diet is food combining. Firstly, it requires you to eat fruit on an empty stomach.

Secondly, when combining foods you can combine green vegetables with proteins or carbohydrates. However, you are not to combine carbohydrates with proteins.

Robbins is also known for having backed off eating fish exclusively after discovering dangerously high levels of heavy metals in his blood.

Finally, Robbins advices to eat a lot of organic foods. He further advocates that you should drinking water and says you should drink half your body weight  in ounces each day (e.g., if you weigh 150 lbs, drink 75 oz of water). He also recommends omega-3s and omega-6s, from both foods and supplements.

Your diet should have a lot of alkaline foods like green vegetables, avocados, lemons, limes, fish, nuts, eggs, olive oil, flaxseed and water to achieve a Tony Robbins diet
